Hawk 5000 High Precision Measuring System Details
Hawk 5000 has been designed with power and precision in mind, making it ideal for high accuracy quality control routines of a wide variety of complex component features. Hawk 5000 delivers impressive accuracy, repeatability and reproducibility and is available with a wide range of options and accessories, including image capture, fully geometric PC-based data processing with Video Edge Detection (VED) option. 

Superior Optics
Accurate non-contact measurement of precision components requires high resolution, high contrast images, combined with a precision measuring stage. 

Hawk 5000 utilises Vision Engineering's patented Dynascope™ technology to provide enhanced surface definition for fast and simple measurement. The superb optical clarity also allows detailed visual inspection to be performed simultaneously. 

Unlike video systems which digitise the optical information, Hawk 5000 employs a pure optical image meaning that there is no image processing before the measurement. Component parts can thus be measured with confidence. 

Precision Measuring Stage
Hawk 5000 is available with a range of high specification, high performance measuring stage options, providing a measuring range of up to 400mm x 300mm. Every measuring stage has factory-completed non-linear error correction (NLEC) calibration to ensure optimum accuracy, which is traceable to NPL/NAMAS/NIST standards for the purposes of ISO9000. Combined with 0.5µm resolution measuring encoders, this provides a system repeatability of up to 2µm for complete confidence in your results.* 

Powerful PC Software
Data processing is performed by the QC-5000 fully geometric PC software and is ideal for measuring complex 3-D component features. The QC-5000 software has been designed to cope with the demands of a busy quality control department and includes features to simplify complex measurement routines, plus provides powerful data import, export and analysis tools, including Statistical Process Control (SPC). 

Options & Accessories
Surface and sub-stage illumination options enable adjustment of lighting to suit any application. Surface illumination is provided by a shadow-free 6-point ringlight, with the option of episcopic (through the lens) illumination for viewing blind bores or deep surface features. Quick-change macro magnification options are: x10, x20, x50 and x100 (x20 fitted as standard), with high magnification micro objectives available in a 4-turret array: x50, x100, x200, x500 and x1000.

Metro-FORM Internal Dimension Measurement

Metro-FORM for quality measurement equipmentMetro-FORM offers a unique solution for rapid, repeatable & accurate gauging of intricate internal features. Where conventional techniques would involve the destructive testing of a component, Metro-FORM allows a highly accurate internal representation of the component to be made, leaving the original test piece intact.

Quadra-Chek metrology software is the premier system for the measurement and inspection of 2-D and 3-D geometric components. QC-5000 metrology software is the premier control interface within the Hawk family of non-contact measuring systems, providing a commanding solution to empower operators along every step of the measurement process. Patented features reduce repetitive measurements and simplify complex work steps, with the ability to utilise Video Edge Detection (VED) for enhanced throughput. 

The QC-5000 features intuitive drag-and-drop data fields, macros and database templates, plus programming and automation tools.

Intuitive Displays
The core of QC-5000 is a simple, visual part view window with conventional toolbar to define measurement processes. A consistent, intuitive interface ensures operator accuracy and reduces training time. 

Software Training & Support
Full on-site or off-site training is offered with every installation, which can be tailored to individual requirements. Additional application support is also available for the development of custom routines and processes.

Measurement

Measure Magic®
To measure, simply probe points and click. QC-5000 detects, without the operator's intervention, the feature type being measured. With the patented Measure Magic® feature, operators can inspect multiple features without taking their eyes off the part, increasing throughput, improving accuracy and reducing user fatigue. 

Sound and colour cues, with animated "next-step" prompts help to streamline operator action without interrupting workflow.

Select two or more features to create intersections or constructions. 

Advanced Calculations
Results fields can be customised for special measurement needs and complex calculations by embedding formulas (e.g. automatically calculate area or circumference dimensions with each circle measurement, or perform compound calculations based on coefficients extracted from multiple features).

Programming & Automation

Part Programming
Simplify difficult or repetitive measurement sequences with an easy-to-use and robust programming interface. Program a measurement sequence once and run it back as often as you need. Measure the same number of points per feature, in the identical sequence, part after part. 

Simplified Program Creation
Turn on the Record function to enable the software to 'learn' measuring sequences, tolerances and reporting functions for subsequent parts. 

CAD File Import
Import pre-existing part specifications from part programs to jumpstart the part programming process and eliminate transcription errors.

Data Management & Output

Part Image Archive
Record and store graphic measurement results of parts, along with dimensions and other information for up-to-date records for convenient, ongoing quality control and archival reference. 

Data Management
Integrated tools allow capture, archive and retrieval of data in a variety of formats and incorporate custom spreadsheets to simplify the management of complex or non-standard calculations. 

Output
Streamline communication among operators, management, departments and quality control teams. Customised reports can be sent to a variety of applications, printers or databases, with the ability to exchange formatted data throughout the company or around the world. 

Tolerance Displays
QC-5000 translates data-intensive reports into informative graphics so operators can quickly see the results of tolerances applied to geometric features. Colour-coded results show green/red for pass/fail. 

Integrated Database
Store, retrieve and manage enormous amounts of measurement data on the shop floor. 

Report Generator
Build high-quality reports with drag-and-drop report templates to simplify data selection and formatting. Save, print or email measurement result reports to team members for review. 

Data Export
Conveniently transfer measurement data to CAD for reverse engineering applications, or to Microsoft applications for enhanced data processing.
